Tim Wylie, Ampcontrol's Principal Engineer discussed inadvertent compromise of protection systems essential to safe provision of electrical energy via I-T networks in hazardous environments at the 21st Electrical Engineering Safety Seminar (EESS) in Sydney.

Inadvertent compromise of the protection systems essential to safe provision of electrical energy via an I-T network in hazardous environments was the subject of Ampcontrol's Chief Technology Officer, Tim Wylie's, presentation at the 2011 Mining Electrical Safety Association (MESA) conference in Brisbane.

The Series 800 multi-purpose flameproof enclosure from ATF Mining Electrics, a Member of the Ampcontrol Group, now holds an IEC Ex Certificate of Conformity for electrical apparatus in explosive atmospheres (IEC60079-0 and IEC60079-1).  The enclosure is designed for Class 1 Zone 1 Ex d coal mine applications and can be used in any country that accepts International Certifications.  It can be installed in a range of hazardous area applications including auxiliary fans, pump stations and machine electrics.

Vehicle headlights for underground mining applications have the possibility of reaching exceedingly high temperatures, jeopardising the safety of workers and breaching regulations set by the NSW Department of Primary Industries.
